Team overview
Established 2005 | Renamed 2007
The West Virginia Wardogs were originally founded by two local Semi-Pro players as the Buckhannon Break. They wanted to attempt to reach more athletes in North Central WV with the ability to participate in Semi-Pro football. There were other teams in the state but they were stretched out over great distances. The Break's founders were traveling great distances to play the sport they love, and while it was well worth it, we believed it would only be fair to build a more centralized team to draw players. After the Break's inaugural season, one of the original founders teamed up with a former player turned partner and redesignated the team as the Wardogs. The Wardogs intend to be very effective in the community. Participating in service projects and other areas of need. It is the intention of the WV Wardogs to build an organization that will develop into an explosive team that will be the best. The Wardogsk would also like to aid in the growth of Semi-Pro football, bringing more fan base and recognition to those that play it.
